Objectives Students acquire an insight in a certain department of social work and methodics that are applied.
Social work:
Besides the development of knowledge and insight in the methodic, the accent lays particularly on methodical acting.
Most attention goes out the development of attitude, which is a fundamental condition in social aid-relations.
The presumtions-working principles are handed in extenso. The intention is to stimulate the reflection on personal acting, having the training period in view.
Socio-cultural work:
The students have an insight in SCW and the way it's been translated in practice.
Social Advising and Social Policy:
Students get an introduction in the territory of Social Advising and Social Policy:
- legal advice
- employment-finding and route accompaniment
- social policy
Students also make exercises on these topics.
Community Development:
Students understand how individual unwellness can be caused by structural components, they know which techniques and methodology can be set up in order to initiate social change, they understand the principles of community development, they are critical towards social policy and actual tendencies.
Human Resource Management:
To obtain knowledge and insight in the complex span between employee-labour-organisation-society, via the study of the most important methodologies in human resource management.
To practise some typical skills in the field op personnel management, which can also be used in other areas of social work.
Topics Social work:
Social work as methodic (such as approchments and strategies).
Groundmodel and generalmodel of social aid (various fases until the intake fase).
SCW:
A further study is given on what SCW is corresponding with first years lessons, the role of SCW, the tasks, the backgrounds of SCW in Vlaanderen against which the different kinds of organisations and institutions and services placed.
The students get a general introduction in the conceptionframe and a survey of all subsections which have developed in Vlaanderen.
Social Advising and Social Policy:
Students will practise the different territories and learn and see the different stages in socially legal service. They learn to use a variety of sources and can translate legal information into comprehensible information.
They practise with policy plans.
Community Development:
Beside a more sociological scope, this course gives an insight in the methodology of community organisation, social group work and social action. Students discover the workingfield through a guided problem-directed assigment.
Human Resource Management:
Starting with the HRM-model as a diagnostic frame, 4 key-areas of personnel management are taken into view:
- recruitment and selection
- evaluation
- compensation and benefits
- personnel development
Prerequisites The basis knowledge from earlier courses, such as Introduction Social Work, Law, "Beroepspraktijk" (initiation in workfield).
