Objectives
Translating from one foreign language to another language requires very different skills. When translating from English to Turkish, the different syntactic, idiomatic and contextual systems create certain problems. This course aims to translate an English text about a general subject into fluent and correct Turkish not only by improving the general level and skills of the students in the targeted languages but also by teaching how to use specific translation methods and strategies.

Topics
This course is based on economic, political, cultural and literal themes of a general nature. Advanced word structure, idioms, proverbs, general sayings etc. are studied in detail.Critical analysis of texts.Special attention is paid to specific stylistic and methodological difficulties in translation.

Prerequisites
Advanced level both in English and in Turkish.

Final Objectives
To be able to fully understand English and Turkish texts and translate them in a fluent and in a correct way into the targeted language.
