Objectives In the third bachelor year students have to write a bachelor proof. The student works independently on a case relevant for the domain of the study programme. It aims at making students familiar with the literature, with looking up literature data and with the writing of a report.
Topics Individual project work, written report and oral confrontation.
Prerequisites The aim of the course is that the student proofs that he masters the competences of the bachelor programme.
Final Objectives Core competences 1:
To be able to acquire knowledge of chemical/biochemical technologies and master specific practical skills. (SC5)
Amongst others:
- To be able to assimilate, to implement and to use relevant existing and new technologies and/or theories. (AIC2)

To be able to acquire research skills and to plan scientific research independently. (SC6)
Amongst others:
- To be able to collect and to handle relevant scientific and technical information effectively. (AC2)
- To be able to implement research methods and research techniques in an effective way also within an uncertain context. (AWC1)
- To be able to initiate research in an problem-controlled way. (AWC3)

To be able to handle responsibly environmental, safety and health issues in a laboratory setting. (SC7)

- To be able to reflect upon social, scientific and moral problems. (AWC2)
General competence 1:
To be able to implement scientific-disciplinary insights on scientific and/or engineering problems, independently and in a team, and to be able to communicate and to report this to laymen as well as to specialists in an efficient way. (AIC1, AC4)

To be able to find a connection between different scientific disciplines in order to understand technical problems and processes. (AIC3)
