Objectives
This course wants to make students familiar with databases. By means of a database program (part of an office-package) the student has to be able to produce and use a database professionally.

The student has to know all the most important possibilities of a database program and has to be able to expand his knowledge through documentation (help-function).

The student must be able to perform a given amount of assignments independently and efficiently within a limited length of time.

The student must be able to think in a problem-solving way and must be able to work accurately.
This course is used as a link to other office-packages.

Topics
  • Basic terminology concerning database programs
  • Produce tables, find relations· Introduce data (importing and exporting)
  • Designing queries: queries of selection (parameter and join-queries included) and queries of action
  • Working with documents and reports
  • Exercises


Prerequisites
Being able to use the current possibilities of system of control as efficiently as possible and having a keyboard skill.
