Objectives
You must realise that in the business world it is a necessity to be able to communicate successfully in French. That is why you must be able to understand and interpret a written or oral text. For the same reason you also need to be able to put a message correctly into words.

Theory
1. Le français dans l’entreprise: buisiness-oriented expressions and vocabulary + exercises (listening skill exercises, dialogues, vocabulary-,translation-, grammar exercises)
2. Textes: professional training-oriented texts + exercises (reading-proficiency-, vocabulary-, translation exercises, to summarize texts based on a schema, grammar exercises)
Supervised Independent Learning (SIL)
Exercises in order to brush up the knowledge of grammar.

Final Objectives
The competences at which will be worked profoundly are:
1. Communication skills (oral + written):
• You are able to use the basic grammar
• You are able to understand and use a general, business-oriented and professional training-oriented vocabulary
• You are able to understand and interpret business-oriented conversations and professional training-oriented texts
• You are able to formulate your message clearly in various businesslike situations.
2. Independence (through SIL):
• You are able to complete an individual task successfully under supervision.
• You ask for advice if necessary.

Teaching Methods
The teaching methods are adapted to the various parts of the syllabus: learning conversations, sessions with exercises, SIL and self-assessment tests.

Assessment
There are two ways of evaluation:
• written grammar test that assess the command of the language on the basis of SIL: 20 % (during the semester) – closed questions;
• an written exam: 80 % (during the examination period).
