Objectives Internship allows students to have practical experience.
Knowledge, skills and attitudes taught in three years' training are developed further and are tested in the field.
General and job-related skills are developed further:- Exploration of theoretical basis
- Skills in interpersonal relationships, teamwork, handling information, dealing with tasks, functioning on, a personal level, reasoning skill and administrative skills
Writing a paper teaches students to make a report on their own.
Reports need to e limited to essentials wherever necessary and conclusions have to be unambiguous, clear and consistent.
Internship lasts sufficiently long for students to be able to put themselves into a job situation. Students get a view of employment possibilities after three years' training and they have the required application skills.
Topics Internship lasts 3 months, from March through May. Internship may be in a transport company, a distribution centre, the logistics or import / export department of a company.
Students will work on their own and be of assistance in, e.g.:- Shipping
- Customs
- Transport management
- Transport insurance
- Administration
Students keep a logbook of their internship, describing in short any relevant activities during internship and giving a short personal assessment. Moreover, students write a paper on a subject determined in consultation with mentor and coach.
The paper consists of a practical study linked to subjects in Logistics Management and should have added value for students in their curriculum. It will be 'handed' in at the department in electronic form, along with 3 hard copies.
Students also give a copy to the provider of the internship.
Application training will allow students to get to know several jobs for which they were trained and to practice application for jobs.
Prerequisites Students have the knowledge, skills and attitudes taught in their training.

Any costs linked with internship, including the medical examination, are at the students' expense.
Study guidance
Teaching Methods Students are involved in logistics workplaces in their companies. After a short introduction period, they are urged to work on their own in logistics functions.
Students analyse activities they can partake in and do research or make a study that could be useful for the firm.Internship activities should lead to a paper in which 3 aspects occur:- A description of the student's internship activities
- A critical discussion of the department or service
- Research or a study linked with their company or a subject suggested by the coach
The internship company determines the language of communication.
The paper is written in Dutch (in principle), unless otherwise agreed upon.
Assessment First exam session:
Assessment has two aspects:·
Second exam session:
Students who did get at least 10 / 20 for either exam does not have to do this part of the exam again in the second session of the same academic year. They do have to be re-examined on the part for which they got less than 10 / 20, otherwise they will be considered to have been absent for the entire examination.
