Objectives
At the end of the course, students are able to correctly use justicial jargon both in speech and in writing. They can make conversation on a justicial topic in French, phrase the question and participate in a discussion.
They can understand, summarize, comment a justicial text and report either in writing or orally.

Students are expected to develop and pursue various attitudes aimed at the required professional attitudes, like accuracy, flexibility, practicality, autonomy, sense of initiative, sense of cooperation and willingness to learn.

The skills in French to be acquired are mainly social and communication skills based on correct (judicial) expression to allow students to communicate without a fault.

Students need to function in French in a team as well as towards clients or draft readable letters or documents.
Students can express themselves in French precisely and clearly in speech and in writing.
Students can both exchange views on judicial topics with colleagues and explain such information professionally to clients.

Topics
  • Terminology is reviewed, consolidated and expanded using texts, original documents, multimedia, vocabulary lists etc. and is introduced thematically.
  • Both oral and written communication are emphasized and, if possible, integrated in a cross-course project. They are in any case functional and job-oriented (e.g. making translations, correspondence, commenting a certain topic, summarizing texts, giving clients information, etc.)
  • Various exercises on various judicial topics will improve students' skills.
Occasional references to grammar in the framework of correct professional communication will be integrated in guided self-study.

Prerequisites
Students need to have sufficiently assimilated goals and contents of the second year.
They need a good command of vocabulary as taught in the second year. The same goes for grammar and skills as taught in the second year.
