Doelstellingen
Reflection and Discussion Group (3 credits). For a total of 9 credits in the Master of Visual Art or the Master of Audiovisual Art programme, students can select from three options:
1) Arts in practice for 6 or for 9 credits
2) ‘Reflection and Discussion Group’ for 3 credits
3) Courses offered by Ghent University Association

The ‘Reflection and Discussion Group’ programme segment includes critical group meetings intended to provide a platform for discussion and reflection for Master’s candidates.
Students working towards the Master’s qualification can acquire information and discuss exam projects currently being developed.
The purpose is to analyze and reflect on the artistic practices of the members of the group.
These meetings are alternately moderated by one of the participants.
The frequency of the meetings is determined by the participants, with a minimum of six meetings per year.
The Master of Audio-visual/ Visual Art programme further builds on the achievements of the Bachelor of Audio-visual/ Visual Art programme, focused on the coordination, structure and execution of students’ own visions and ideas.

For students in part-time study, this portion of the programme is followed during the first year of the Master’s programme.

Leerinhoud
theme-based

The ‘Reflection and Discussion Group’ provides the opportunity for participants to discuss and contemplate one another's work.
A group of Master’s candidates functions as a forum for critical discourse and reflection.
In this way, the work and the intentions of students are shared and examined by a group of their peers.
A group discussion with fellow students is set up as an exercise in reading and interpreting works of art and in the formation of concepts involved in artistic decisions, notably in the way artistic decisions lead to or indicate the meaning and impact of the work.

Begincompetenties

Students must also be registered for at least one other segment of the Master’s project during the same academic year.
